1. How much time can you devote to the game? What are your problem hours of the day?
My job for the summer officially ends the week of August 13th, so the first couple of days I might be busy or unable to be fully involved, but after that I am able to devote all time. Hopefully the first few days are slow anyways so I won't be at too much of a disadvantage.
2. What is your main motivation for playing?
Big Brother has started again for the summer, and with it returns the annual eagerness to get involved in some kind of competition. While I am not a survivor fan (I like the show, just never got into it) I have played Isolated and have been interested in trying to play Stranded.
3. Have you played in other online games? If so, how many/what type?
The only other ORG of this type I've played has been Isolated, and I didn't exactly do well. Luckily I learned a lot and feel I am better adapted to the format and would be able to dominate, or at least become some sort of player.
4. Which 3 "SURVIVOR" contestants match your personality the best and how?
So I am not the biggest Survivor fan, so this part may not truly reflect my personality as well as it could be, but it's as good as I can do with my limited knowledge.
1. Coach Wade - I am a dominant personality, I want control and knowledge of everyone I know about, and I manipulate. While Coach is considerably more skilled at this than I currently am, Wade is what I attempt to be and how I will attempt to play. His abilities to understand what people think and want are inspiring and motivate me when I learn about people.
2. Rupert Boneham - I am a bit trusting to a fault, and while I try to remain a bit independent, I realize that I fall easily into the idea that these people I barely know like or care about me. I can be nice, but I also have a big angry side. The main point of Rupert to me is being naive and little to relaxed at times.
3. Sugar Kiper - I am a quirky person, full of pep and there to be entertaining and somewhat flirty. I'm not to her point of absolute positivity and flirtatiousness, but I am incredibly social and love being the life of the party. While she may be a bit devious, I feel I can channel some her abilities into my own game...minus the getting out first thing.
5. Which 3 "SURVIVOR" contestants are your favorite and why?
1. Richard Hatch is such a cool guy. Thanks to him the whole idea of alliances and betrayals and being a gay asshole became cool. He's who I want to be...minus the whole tax evasion thing. He was the start to the whole Survivor craze and I think his strategies were fresh and innovative. No matter what anyone says: he still won!
2. Rob Cesternino is so funny and always has something awful to say. If I could be any survivor player outside of the strategy, I would choose Rob because he's honestly one of my favorite players to ever be on TV. Plus his podcast is great for people who enjoy either show.
3. Jeff Probst isn't exactly a player per se, but he is still such an interesting and dynamic host. He is so involved and so passionate about the game, he makes it seem as though he is right there with the players strategizing and playing the game. His adept strategies and understanding of the game make him such a wonderful example of how contestants should think or should face challenges. He is calm, cool, and collected and if he ever played, probably one of the strongest survivor players in history. Plus he is pretty funny.
6. If confronted by a fellow castaway, what would your initial reaction be?
Calm, cool, collected. The best way to deal with confrontation is to either redirect the anger, or discuss a solution. I will never confess to doing anything unless there isn't any other solution. The important point is to never match the anger or rage, because that can only end badly. I want to manage any sort of anger and figure a way out to calm the castaway down and convince them I am on their side.
7. How would you like to be portrayed on the real show if you had the option?
Energetic, sassy, the guy you love to hate. I consider myself pleasantly unpleasant; someone who acts like a jerk, but in such a humorous way that you can't help but love me. I try to be friendly and welcoming, but I've managed to make all my friends through sarcasm and sass, and that's how I feel I should be shown to the world. Sure, it could be a little more positive, but I'm pretty happy about the way I act. While I may not be the strongest or smartest, I would absolutely be a fan favorite.
8. How do you think you would actually be portrayed?
Obnoxious, loud, and controlling. While I would like to think I am funny and lovable, as well as a team player, in stressful situations I can become angered and just plain mean and catty. My sass can turn to bitterness and instead of being charming, I'd be a huge cunt. To be honest I fluctuate between someone you love to hate to someone you just straight up despise. So while I'd hope to be a fan favorite, I'd most likely be the villain.
9. What personality types do you typically get along with?
Sarcastic people with a love for stupid jokes. I'm exactly that and I mesh well with people who can take jokes and talk a lot about ridiculous topics. Gay people, they are my people and I'm good with any of them. Nerds, people who love Adventure Time and Steven Universe, Pokemon and Fire Emblem, just interests in more nerd-esque culture.
10. What personality types do you typically clash with?
Mean-spirited douchebags. I may be an asshole, but those who are maliciously mean, I want them out. People who can't take a joke because there's no way I can interact with them without seeming like the asshole. Sports lovers because I cannot find common ground, it's just toooo boring.
11. What style of game play do you most respect?
Any type of game that gets you far is good, otherwise it wouldn't work. Except those who simply float or do nothing. I get that it's technically a strategy, but it's boring on TV and in the game when you simply ride on the coattails of others or hide behind big targets. You can lie, you can be super social, you can be a competition beast, but you cannot simply do nothing.
12. What is your strategy going into the game?
Social. Make a lot of allies, not a lot of alliances. I need to have a conversation with every single person and make some sort of bond. I will find my group, but I need some common ground to ensure that I can start off with some leverage on each person and the ability to keep myself the first couple of eliminations. I will attempt to win competitions and make alliances, but I don't want to play too hard until I have people trusting me and helping me. I need friends before I can even attempt to play.
Take this opportunity to tell us anything about yourself that you would like us to know.
I will continue to apply for every season of Stranded until I am accepted. I know I am ready to do well in an ORG, and I know Stranded is the perfect game for me. If you give me this chance you will not be disappointed. I will win or die trying.
